FREE RECITAL

(No tickets required)

Thursday 8th February 2024, 1.10pm

Harty Room, Queen's University, Belfast

HRSE Featured Young Artists

Samuel Kane and Rosie Murphy

Hard Rain are proud to present this recital in partnership with QUB School of Arts, English and Languages. Here, our two brilliant Young Artists (also both composers in their own right) perform as soloists as well as forming a chamber duo. This year we feature talented harpist Rosie Murphy who is currently studying classical music and sonology in The Hague Royal Conservatory. Alongside her is the equally accomplished violinist Samuel Kane who is now in his final year of a Masters degree at the Royal Northern College of Music.

This programme features a range of virtuosic solos and ends with a duo from one of the worlds best known contemporary composers. It features Irish music, including new compositions from our two Young Artists, alongside international works from Lebanon, Slovenia and Estonia. Join us as Sam and Rosie showcase not only their talents as performers but also their enthusiasm for discovery and increasing expertise for new music.
